I thought at first it was hill assist so i shut it off still happening. Only seems to happen backing out of driveway in morning, happens with brake applied and without using brakes rolling back slowly truck will stop doesnt move even with a little gas. I pull forward and back up again it goes away sometimes it will happen again then i pull forward again and it goes back ok. Im not sure yet if its the rear locking up or the brakes?

Parking brake shoe pad is getting wedged in the hub/rotor. Corrosion from salt is a killer, mine just started doing this and I use the brake everyday.

If you gently apply the parking brake while coasting it will buy you a little time but plan on replacing both shoes and at least clean up the inside of the rotor.

A badly worn out U-Joint could also be binding.
More likely a stuck caliper.
Both can be checked with a floor jack.
I don't have any experience going into the rear. Otherd here way smarter than me there.

Please help my dumb *** out here. How can a parking brake wear out if it's only applied when parked? No motion, no friction = no wear. What don't I know here?

Pretty common in the cold climate region for the pad to just separate from the shoe. Another poor components selection from OEM.

Do you have the sensors in the rear bumper? The ones for park assist?

You’d get an EVIC prompt if it were the sensors tripping.
