Where are those two Dealers again? I've seen Mark Dodge on here before.

I dunno, I've really liked my 2017 Ram 2500. The only thing I'd get besides newer is the 8 speed transmission. I only got 46k miles on mine now due to retirement and pandemic shutdowns. It used to be fun shopping every 5 years or so. Wish they had a smaller diesel in the heavy duty for an option. I hardly need 1,000 ft-lbs torque.
Don't U need that horsepower to pull the dog sleds U use on yer frozen tundra??? (sic):33::anitoof:
And then there is the weight of 6-8 dogs in the bed, (maybe inside with with you to stay warm), roflmao.

Granger is pretty close to you, near Des Moines Iowa.

Mark Dodge is way down in south Louisiana, Lake Charles.

Used trucks have been way too high for decades. Since 97 I've been buying new because used are such high mileage, no warranty and near new truck prices. For a few extra bucks a month new has always been the better deal for me

I just sold my '17 1500 BigHorn with 57k miles, 3.92, 5.7 to CarMax for $27k. Probably could have gotten $30k if I wanted to sell private, but I wanted it gone quick, as I already had my '18 2500 6.7 Limited mega-cab sitting in my driveway. Took the $27k and paid off the last 18 months on my 2 other daily-drivers. One pink slip turned into 2. I bought the 2500 for $60k with 63k miles. Just about every option, including Ram Boxes. Sat on the dealer's lot for 35 days. Trade-in prices are falling, but so are trade-in values, they sold it to me for a $4k loss. GivemetheVIN.com offered me $20k for my 1500, I told them to kick rocks.

I purchased a new 2022 from Mark Dodge. Flawless transaction and under invoice

I just ran a Kelley Blue Book price estimate on my 2015 RAM 1500 Laramie EcoDiesel crew cab. In excellent condition, with full options and only 47,000 miles, KBB says it's worth $36k. I'd sell it for that price, but then I'd have to go in debt again to buy a new truck.

I sold an '18 Accord to one of those car flipping sites. 4yr old, 70k miles, $18k. That's about $2k per year of ownership. computer issues were emerging so I wanted to get away from it

Traded a '16 Camaro V6 for a Mazda cause the wife needed a taller car. I think we got $26k for it. 5 years of ownership for $4k!

Neither made money, but it sure made trades easy.

I tell you what, though - powering through snow takes some serious torque - it's like running a truck in sand down your way, to give you an idea what it feels like. And quite a few guys up here run snow plows too - even higher loading.

My 2018 Power Wagon got stolen November of 2021. The insurance company could only pay the original MSRP max payout no matter the market. I only had 36,000 miles on it and had just upgraded it to 37in tires with a 1/2 inch Tauren lift. Rims and tires cost me $3500, bed cover $1000, and lift $1000. MSRP fully loaded was $59,300.00

Insurance not going to pay for all the extra stuff, just off of what was "on" the truck when shipped, and possibly minus depreciation, that U never know, but hopefully U had Gap Insurance.

I have a 2006 Honda GL 1800 with an "optional" 2015 Cobra Razor kit. I had to get an addendum on my insurance policy to cover all the "trike" parts, since did not come originally with the MC. Not the same, when you buy a new MC that came Triked, Like a New Trike/HD/Polaris/Spyder that are built Triked from factory.

I just don't see value in buying a new one with only 46k miles on my 2017 HD, purchased used for $42k in 2018 with 13k miles. Was app. $50k new. For same Laramie now, retail is $72k. Even a 4% discount is still $69k. What would I get for +$19k more 5 years later? I doubt $19k more satisfaction. I bought a new Harley for that much.

I am thinking it will be another 10 or more years before I even consider buying again. I have a 2018 2500 bought new off lot in 2019 with under 10k miles living in my garage. By then I may be spending 2x as much as my first house for a vehicle. Ugh

We’d be better off finding an early 2003/2004 model down south that the frame and body are in good shape and rebuilding the 5.9 Cummins and trans.

It's not 4% below MSRP, it's 4% below invoice. Sticker on my truck is $96K, I'm paying $83k for it. Sticker was $94K when I ordered it, but that has increased some. My price is locked in though, and I have that in writing.

I hear you though. Our stories are similar. I bought my 18 2500 2.5 years ago when the Covid lockdowns had just begun. Vehicles were not selling, so prices were great. Mine is a very loaded Mega, Rambox, CTD Laramie. Was Certified Pre-owned with 14K on the clock. I gave them $40K for it. Love the truck, but it's now worth a lot more than I paid, and the only way I could see to pull that value out of it is to do what I did. If things change whenever it finally gets here, like the bottom falling out of the used HD truck market, I'll pass on the new one. I kept my last 3/4 ton, which I bought new, for 17 years. So hanging on to my much liked 18 would NOT be a hardship.

nearby dealers here are selling 2500's for msrp and are taking a few thousand off 1500's. when I bought my 1500 laramie it stickerd for 57,700 and I paid 43,000 and some change. the same truck now stickers for around 62,000 and if they take off a few thousand I would have to pay in the upper 50's so maybe 13-14,000 more to get a 3 model year newer 1500. they are offering a little less now on trade-ins but yesterday a dealer quoted me 38-42,000 sight unseen for my '19. going to keep shopping for a new 2500 but waiting for the deal to get a little better.

BOIRD really really really really really wants a new Honda Wing Trike. Now my 06 has 54K on Odometer and the Trike Kit (a 2015) has 12K on it, but, wait, I have the Pink Slip. Finding a 2022 Honda Trike requires a trip to DFW and 54K before any other stuff, like taxes, financing, and and and. Guess BOIRD stuck with his 06 unless the Kindly Forum members wanna start and Award BOIRD with a Gofund me Money check for 54K, I'll handle the taxes and registration fees. :angels25::33:

DA BOIRD.

I saw a used one at a dealer yesterday, 1 year old (I didn't see the miles, but looked real low), Bighorn QC. $46,999 is what they had for an asking price on it.

That’s why I’m keeping this old boy, and I’ll keep modifying it. 2010 Ram former laremie, now 2013 + sport
Looks way better then most newer ones, no payments!
