As for your friend, sorry but I agree with him. No way I'd put all those miles every week hauling someone else's stuff around. You never get those miles back and it does devalue the vehicle. A favor once in awhile, sure but 500 miles a week? That's an awful lot to ask.
You need to minimalize your life for now till your out of debt and have some savings or you'll wind up unfortunately like so many, in debt and unable to find a way out. Good luck!
