Trucks making an odd noise...

My truck makes a whining noise when I'm driving it. I can't tell exactly where it's coming from. Any ideas?

Sounds like its coming from the rear end

Does it get louder with increased speed? My guess is u joint, pinion bearing or carrier bearing. Been there hope it is u joint.

Ya as I accelerate it gets louder. I can here the noise at a steady speed as well as slowing down until a complete stop. I just had the pinion seal replaced. I think that's what it's called.

My guess is the guy overtightened the pinion nut and it causes premature wear just like what happened to me. Take it back to the same place and make them fix it.
