Hello newbie on this site. I own a 14 RCSB and hate the MDS just like I did on my 07 yukon I used to own before this one.
I got rid of the cylinder deactivation with a tune on the yukon. Anyone recommend a certain tune?

Either bullydog or diablo can disable MDS.

Do you have the tow-haul package with the magic button and the 6speed?

Pressing it turns off mds while allowing more rpm's to go into the shifting and all "6" gears are active. Just keep in mind it locks out 5th and you actually want the overdrive if on the highway for extended periods to keep the transmission fluid cooler.

I do have the tow package with the 6 speed. Are you talking about the tow/haul button? I haven't tested it out yet guess I'll try it today.
Thanks guys just want to get rid of the awful sound it makes when active sounds like **** IMO.

Again, just don't leave it on while doing long drives or anything at highway speeds or you'll cook the trans. Around town is fine.

If anything it would make the transmission run cooler. That is one of the reasons it disables overdrive, to extend the life of the transmission while towing. It might make your engine run a little hotter from turning more rpm's but that will be it.

I agree about it sounding like crap in MDS, but if you manually shift it into 6 gear it disables it until you take it out of drive. :happy107:
