Hey guys i have 2004 1500 qc with a diablo tuner. I will be doing a at3030 or at3030xl with a Y pipe to dual tips. Then eventually i will be adding the vararam cai. then replace the spark plugs but im not sure if i should replace the wires also and if so with what brand? Also i have the 3.92 axle and want to upgrade for performance. what putting 4.10 gears in it make a difference?

I would replace the spark plugs before installing the Vararam. If the plug wires are original, then they are at least 10 years old. I would replace the plug wires, I could not advise you on any particular brand, as my Hemi doesn't have plug wires. The 4:10 gears will give you more torque on takeoff, and better trailer pulling. You might want to add a limited slip unit, like a Tru-Trac unit. Good luck on your mods.

If youre gonna sink money into gears go big or go home. Going up .18 is a waste of money. Not sure what rear or front you have but 4.30s or 4.56s would be way more worth it.

I wouldn't waste the time/money going from 3.92 to 4.10. It's less than a 5% change, and you may not even notice it.

Both front and rear axles are 3.92s. If I up my rear end should I up the front also? Or is just doing one fine? And how much will I notice doing 4.30s verse 4.56s

I meant the size of your differential case. You would have to swap gears in both front and rear since youre 4wd. 4.30s would be noticable for sure but unless youre running bigger tires than stock or dont do much highway driving 4.56s might be too little gear. To be honest im not sure if they make a 4.30 ratio ring and pinion set for the 1500 trucks so you'll have to find out what differentials your truck has and go from there. I was just trying to give you an idea of how low you'd have to go to bother spending that kind of money.

As far as I know there is no 4.30 gear for the 1500.

I'm with everyone else though that going 3.92 to 4.10 isn't worth it. However going to 4.56's is supposed to make a huge difference, BUT expensive to get done, especially on a 4x4. You have to machine out both the front and rear diffs to fit the gears in. Its around a $2k-3k job I believe.
