My first post as new member! Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth about diesel prices. I'm selling my 2011 for that reason. But that is not the reason for this post. We all know electric is going to shove aside diesel due to emissions failures and expense to keep our diesel rigs on the road. Electric trucks are NOT ready for prime time in my opinion due to short range with current technology even though they offer way more torque compared to diesel. But I see where the class-eight tractor manufactures are seriously looking at natural gas burning turbine generator to charge batteries on the go when battery level drops to recharge level. Supposedly one company Nicola, has a test mule on the road with a 100 gallon nat. gas tank that will allow the truck to run while loaded for one thousand miles. I see some spill over to pickup trucks with this technology.
