Also have Magnaflow 36", 4" in/out, straight through muffler on the way. Trying to quiet it down a little more. Presently have a 22" Dynomax , 4" in/out straight through diesel muffler. Like having a stealthy fast truck to catch unsuspecting victims off guard.
Currently testing out this 36" Magnaflow muffler. The exhaust sound is a little quieter. Didn't like that the inner core reduced down to 3 1/2" when in the spec's said it was a 4" inner core.
Recently added a fan shroud to direct hot air from the radiator downward. The hot air from the radiator was blowing under the air to water intercooler heating it up. Also helps to remove the heat from the engine compartment. The air to water intercooler is already running cooler.
Took the old Banks diesel muffler and used it to quiet the exhaust down even more. She's quiet and stealthy now. Just have to add the s/s exhaust tip and paint it black.
Not yet Mario. Have to install the water/**** injection and finish the tuning. Then she'll be ready for a track test runs. Finished the 4" in/out tail pipe with 4" s/s exhaust tip. Runs real quiet now.
Had a little problem while getting a low boost (6psi) base line run at the track.
This was the first base line run a week prior with low boost (6psi). Didn't have the pins in the Caltrac traction bars so the tires spun badly at the line. Had to get out of the throttle twice. 13.8@108mph. It did have a nice top-end pull.
Got a second 6psi boost test hit in at the track. Ran about the same time & mph. My heavy 03 qc had a better 60ft with the same 6psi boost. It had 4.56 gears and it would boost up much sooner. The 05's turbo camshaft is mainly a top-end boost cam. The truck feels a little sluggish at the lower rpm's until the boost comes in. Bought the 88mm turbo for a log style turbo manifold in which has much less hot side piping. The 88mm turbo slowly boosts up with the present long hot side piping. I do have a 80mm ball bearing GT45 turbo I'm planning on it trying out on the 05. It will definitely spool up quicker.
