Has anyone two tone painted their rear emblem? I am thinking of trying this before I go through a $100+ on a custom one. I am kind of partial to my ram heads. Any advice on how to do it. Don't want to do the plastidip, looking for a more durable long term option.

I wish they would bring back the old prospector ram head from the '80's. My dad and grandpa always had them on their dodges, and Mack dogs on their mack trucks.

I think masking it would be a pain in the ass. But I would think any quality rattle can (rust-oleum) would hold up well if it was prepped right. Not sure though. Never painted the plastic.

I agree on the 80's Rams head. I have one I found in a you-pick yard. Not sure where it's going yet.

Thanks guys. The front has already been done. the rear has been the wild card since it is a one piece. Cwakefield, one place for that right up front on end of the hood. Take pics if yo do it. I have a ram head, but the mount broke many a years ago. When I get it done I will post results. The front has held up well even in car washes.

liquid mask is the way to go for shor,I did mine with shadow paint around the border and the ram head and an epoxy paint for the back ground,a light caot of the shadow clear to make the epoxy paint react and give it some texture let dry over nite and then about 10 coats of the clear and it has held up excellent. Here is some pics

Oh ya the shadow paint worked excellent for the emblems but not so good for the letters,it doesn't seem to hold up well on the sharp edges

Proper prep on the badge then use Krylon fusion, it bonds to plastic. Used it to color match my taillights white on my old GMC and I actually slid into a mailbox in the winter and it only scuffed the paint, using my thumb some spit and s little elbow grease the scuff came right off. Used it on my badges and it's held up great. In fact did my tail lights with it too and they came out great and have held up with out a problem so far

Thanks guys thoughts look great. Where do you guys find liquid mask?

Next question. What color scheme. Truck brilliant black with gray pin strip and mineral gray bumpers. BB ram head MG background like front. Or reavesred. When I put on new spring plan to have them powder coated to match the mineral gray.

Here is the front.

well, I got an airbrush. But I will have to order liquid mask from an online dealer as no stores around here carry it. Not even the Hobby Lobby.

I'm thinking of doing mine with Tequila Sunrise background and DupliColor Shadow on the goat head and outline. Probably use the liquid mask if I can find it.
