Hello all. I have a 2022 Ram 3500 srw 4×4, standard cab Tradesman. I looking for a 30 amp power connection under the dash for my two way radio.
I don't want to go thru firewall. Anybody have any ideas?

For 30 amps I would go directly to the battery and fuse it. It is not that hard going through the firewall. With the computers and electronics on these trucks today I would not take a chance trying to tap into something in the cab.

Look to see if the cover for where the clutch would go through the firewall if the truck had a manual transmission. The base part of the cab is still based on the Gen4 cab which that plastic plate was there.

Trying to draw 30 amps off an existing in cab lead is not a good idea. Listen to the guys and put in a fused lead. There is no reason to run the ground all the way to the battery. You can see an easy spot to run a wire from the cab to the battery. It is the surround to the parking cable, just to the left from the steering shaft. In the picture, you can see the two wire extension for my 110 Volt in car heater. Make sure you use a round awl to punch the hole. 20230625_133546.png
