Hello, I’m having issues with my UAQ radio, I purchased it from lkq for a good deal, but the navigation dosent seem to work. It has good reception, xm radio, and compass work. When I try to enter an address it says “Map of current location is not available”. Updated to 40.1. https://imgur.com/a/ynfNsxP

Looks good as far as GPS is concerned. I'm guessing it doesn't have any street data for the area of Mexico it thinks you are in. Personally, I would just use Android Auto or Carplay through the UAQ interface and leave it at that. Uconnect Maps are always out of date by years.

I’m in San Diego, CA but it won’t even let me put in an address to navigate to.

Got it. Have you tried resetting the radio by chance? Also, you may be able to reflash the radio firmware to 40.1 again by going back to an earlier firmware first.

I’ve reset it with JScan, unplugged it for a few days, plugged it back in. It was originally on 39.X (not sure exactly) and I flashed 40.1. Should a flash back? Also I was told some updates have navigation files. Let me know what is best! *wasn’t working on 39.X ethier

If it wasn't working on 39.6 I don't see a reason to flash back. 28.3 has a map update version but the maps are much older than yours.

I feel like I remember a setting in the Navy App for a reset too. I could be mistaken though as I never used the integrated NAV.

I don’t mind using CarPlay, but if I ever resell it I want to make sure that it’s 100% working. Can I update to 28.3, Then to 39.6?

You should be able to flash firmware freely between 28.3 and 40.1 with the UAQ. I have done it several times.

Is there any specific way I should downgrade, One by one? Or can I just jump to 28.3.

I also just saw that 30.24 has a map file, can I move the file to another software?

What is your current version of maps? Most of the maps with the updates are way out of date and not worth it but newer maps are newer maps

I think your maps are newer already so I'd just remove the map folder and just "VP4_update" folder should be on the drive

Just tried to downgrade with 28.3 and got an error, Vehicle not compatible.

Trying 39.6, if I dose not work I’ll try to add the older map updates. Can I take the map files from an older update and add it to 40.1?

I think @Mpgrimm2 and I tested this once and that worked for him but I could not get it to work for me.

Just did 39.6 No luck, by any chance do you know how he updated it? Do you put the map files in the VP4_update or leave them separate. @Mpgrimm2

)
Both folders would be in the root of the USB.
