Uconnect 8.4 - 2017 and Older - Connect to Android Auto

I have learned that Uconnect 8.4 in 2017 and later years will not connect to the Android Auto app using USB cable.

I have tried several times and have been unsuccessful.

I want to mirror the Android GPS on my phone to the truck Uconnect screen.

Anyone found a way to mirror phone screen to Uconnect screen?

Yes. You get a 2018+Uconnect radio. UAS or UAV

I use U-connect send and go. I use Navigation on my Note 9. I send a request to the head unit from my phone. I can then follow directions on the head unit. Now mind you, I paid for the U-connect subscription. I drive a 2017 Ram Sport

Do NOT get a 2018 UAS or UAV radio. If you want android auto get an aftermarket radio with touchscreen.

I added a 2019 UAS to my 2018 Ram, added the steering wheel volume controls as well, plus a cable to add the backup camera to my UAS (came with camera view in rearview mirror). All went in pretty easy, I think with 2017 and before you also have to add the correct data port in your center console so that you can connect the cord from there to your phone. Then you can use Google Maps right in your radio. Any 2018+ UAS works, UAQ has maps built in but you need to add the receiver in your roof. Wanted to use maps on my phone because it is always automatically updated. There is a really good sticky thread here with all kinds of details.

I looked at aftermarket but between maestro cable and such my cost there was actually higher and I wanted the factory look. Plus since it was an option available on my truck it is covered under warranty.

It is the model designation for the 2018 radios. The thread on how to install them in earlier years is below in the post by MPGrimm2.

Can you post a picture of your current radio and dash/hvac controls?
(Do you have a factory installed 2017 RAx radio with dual zone climate & Auto Temp Control? If so the 2018 UAQ or UAS upgrade is easier)
