Uconnect 8.4 & 8.4an update - 17.11.07

No email here so I’m not holding my breath. It’ll show up at some point in the future I suppose. I really wish they’d just put the download online so we can just do it ourselves if we didn’t want to wait on the OTA.

Just got the email also.
So I'm a bit confused. I never paid to maintain the 3G services after the complementary period. But I gather it is still active so that FCA can push an update?

This my understanding. It is always active, you just can't use features unless you pay for it. Just like a cell phone with no service, it does actually connect to the tower, even without service, you just can't make or receive calls.

Still waiting for my update. 2017 Ram 1500 Long Horn. Still on old firmware and continue to experience issues with favorites. All phone favorites disappear after restarting the vehicle.

Was told the rollout would be completed by the end of August.

Please advise.

Well I ran some errands today in my Rebel with the new 8.4AN head unit in it...

The new unit is updated to the 17.*** whatever. My old unit had the 16.*** version.

With that being said...my new unit has a female voice talking when I hit buttons...horribly annoying (can't seem to turn it off). And my iPod/USB was super slow to load (2-3 minutes...wouldn't play). Finally did load though.

Overall not happy with the upgrade (then again could be I'm frustrated with the "vehicle phone requires service" error).

New radio last week: New Version

Wouldn't be able to do a over the air update anyway since my internal phone isn't working...but now more problems:

Now my USB is working very sporadically. Connect my iPod to my 8.4 radio and it just sits there doing nothing. I have to hit the "Media" button twice to get it to switch to media...but it just hangs. Everything is grayed out and after 2-3 hours, 9 holes of golf and cycling the vehicle a couple times it finally connected. This is after unplugging and plugging in the iPod several times then letting it wait 5-10 minutes before trying again.

My Rebel is going in on Thursday to get the cable and antenna replaced...so I'll be mentioning this problem. 850 Miles on the truck right now and already had the head unit replaced. iPod worked fine with the previous head unit.

I got my email a couple days ago... Then today when I pulled in to work and turned my engine off (still in run) I got the message. I couldn't wait 20 mins in my truck so I postponed it.

I've had nothing but problems with mine going from fm to aux and back and forth uncontrollably and a few other random issues. They won't do anything till i get the update. I've received 3 emails over the last 2 months that i would get the update and still nothing. I received the last email on friday and still nothing. I talked with uconnect and asked them how would i know if there is something faulty in the unit causing me to not receive the ota update and there answer was keep waiting thats all u can do and had no eta on when i would receive it. Worst customer service I've ever had to deal with

Agree 100%. Customer service is foreign to this company. At this point I'm certain many folks are inquiring about their update. Plan B would allow the dealers to manually upgrade and or troubleshoot.

This is a big disappointment

Got the email a few days ago and still no update on my truck. If I go to the uconnect site and put my vin in it shows the Siri Update that I did a year ago.

My wifes 2017 Grand Cherokee came up with a ota update on Friday but still nothing for my truck.

What is this update supposed to do? I'm kind of hesitant of this update because my RA3 is working flawlessly right now...

Did my update about a month or so ago. Took forever loading while idling the truck, but once done everything was fine. But today, my satellite radio began intermittentenly going in and out, virtually every other word. Sounds like a bad antenna connection. Service here I come
