I have a 2017 3500 with the Uconnect system. This past month the Uconnect quit responding when requested remote functions such as start. I noticed that there was a software update so I installed it (from a thumb drive, i downloaded the update from the Uconnect site). This did not correct the issue. I contacted Ucoonect customer care and I was directed to update the software to a different version (18.45.01-my13-17) however this did not resolve the issue. I contacted Uconnect again and was directed through a soft reset, then another reset through the service center command menu all of which did not resolve the issue. I was then directed to take the truck to the local dealer to have the radio checked. The radio was diagnosed as working properly. I then called Uconnect back and was told that the "engineers" were reviewing the issue and would get back to me, seven days later I was contacted and told to take the truck back to the dealer to have the radio replaced.
I returned to the dealer and was told that the issue was on the Uconnect end and they would not replace the radio. The service manager re-updated the software with no resolution of the issue.
I returned home and called Uconnect back at which time they stated that I need to have "Star Case" opened with the dealer or to try another dealer. I returned to the dealer and the service director sat with me in my truck as we called Uconnect through the radio....you guessed it, I was told that a "Star Case" needed to be opened and that the radio needs further diagnostics. It was found that the truck is receiving the commands but not executing them. My Iphone connects with the truck, the 911 button functions, the Yelp App works. The Uconnect representative states that the radio will not complete the needed electronic "handshake." A "Star Case" has been opened and my truck is at the dealership.
I'm beyond pissed that these two companies can't get together and resolve the issue. Shame on Ram for not better partnering to resolve issues with their trucks.....Rant over...sorry.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and do you have a fix for the issue?
I apologize for the long post......
