So I recently purchased a 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab and I wanted to upgrade the sound a bit. I thought a good place to start might be adding a sub (or two) under the backseat. What I would really like to know is, are the floor pans in the 2015 Crew Cab the same exact shape as the 2002-2005 Quad Cab? I have a box that I had made that has two subs and an amp already mounted in it. A couple seat spacers and some wire and I'll be mostly good to go.

IF the floor pans are different and someone can confirm, then who makes a good single/double underseat box that will fit a 10" Alpine type R? I have no interest in doing the fiberglass work again to build a new box.

On a side note, I happen to have an Audio Control LCQ-1 I plan to use to get a signal for the amp (and maybe some future speaker upgrades). Is it okay to tie into only the rear speakers, or do I need to tap the front ones for full range output? I have the 6 speaker, non-Alpine system with 8.4AN Radio.

Any help with any of these issues would be greatly appreciated!

I cant answer your question about the box being able to fit in your current ram.

As far as the LCQ-1, you should be able to pull from the rear speakers for a signal. If you plan on upgrading your system later and amping everything, I would suggest mounting the LCQ-1 under the radio and getting the signal from there.

I did some research and I think the quad and crew cabs from 02-18 are all the same. I decided to look into some pre-fab boxes and saw that most of them say they fit 02-18 quad and crew cabs. Some only say 09+ so I guess I'll have to pull the seats and check.

As for the LCQ-1, I hadn't thought about placing under the radio. I think for now I'll stick with tapping the rear doors. I don't think the factory 6 speaker sounds that bad. It seems to have decent mid bass, it just needs some help on the low end.
