I have a new Ram 1500 wi th about 1000 miles and the undercarriage has the usual light surface rust. The light brown dusting look. I know it's just surface rust.

If I just get the Krown rustproofing every year then it should never progress right?

Can this rust proofing be done over light surface rust like this?

I've also read about using tire shine foam and just coating the entire undercarriage and it will act like a protective wax and make the undercarriage look new again.

Not sure where you live but if the roads are salted in the winter you should have it sprayed. Krown, Rust Check are excellent. I personally went with Corrosion Free, only has to be re-applied every 18 months

I'm in Maine and the chemicals they use here will eat a frame up in 10 years. I plan to use LPS3, here is a good thread (one of few) showing how much better it performs than other solutions like Fluid Film.

thankfully no rust on any of my rides, they stay hidden if it even looks like rain and never ever come out in the winter months. To answer your question Krown is a good friend to have.

Yeah I've called them and it's about 2 hours away and $139 but should I get it done now or around fall before snow season since it's spring now

I've had Krown on all my vehicles for the last few years. Swear by the stuff. Never had any rust show up using it.

I get my vehicles done every June. Seems to be a good time.

$139 sounds about right, I get a CAA discount of 10% up here in Canada (not sure where you're from OP)
