02 1500 QC. I've had this truck for two weeks.

Last week I was installing a backup camera outside in below zero weather and I had all my doors open for hours. The camera & screen are in no way connected to the dome light or doors or their circuits.

Anyways, i realize the next day that the dome light & the door ajar warning light no longer come on for the driver's side front & rear doors. the lights come on for both the passenger doors like normal.

If I understand correctly the door trigger wire is supposed to complete a ground circuit when the door is opened. I used a multimeter to test the TAN wire in the driver's kick panel which is supposed to be the front driver door trigger wire.
I probed the red wire on the multimeter to a 12v+ constant & the ground probe to the TAN wire. It completed the connection and gave me 12 volts both when the door was closed & opened. So I'm not sure i did that right.

Could both the latches have gone bad randomly at the exact same time? Hopefully someone can help me. Thanks

I'm hoping someone can help. I can't afford to buy new door latches on a whim just to test & see if that's the problem. And my alarm isn't working since it thinks the doors are always closed.

It doesn't seem right that both doors would stop at the exact same time.
UPDATE: I spliced in a ground to the drivers door tan wire right inside the kick panel & the dome light, door ajar light, & chime all started working. Is there a common circuit or something for those two doors that could've gone bad?
