Upfitter and PTO function?

HI: Sorry for my ignorance,Bought A 2019 2500 with the auxiliary switches,I know the function and procedure for the auxiliary switches but what is the PTO, upfitter and jumper PTO connector for?

The HD trucks can run devices(pumps, generators, etc) from PTO which is added to the transmission. There a several electrical interfaces available for a PTO device to control the engine speed and you can use the upfitter switches to control the PTO.

Isn’t the PTO primarily a cab and chassis deal? I didn’t think the auxiliary switches on the regular trucks had PTO, although all the wiring for that is in that bag of wires that comes with the truck.

That's what I was wondering,so much adapters and connectors,I will just use the auxiliary cables and store the rest.Thanks
