Had a chance to tow with my new 2012 Laramie last weekend and needless to say I wasn't too impressed with the brakes. Its obvious when towing 6500lbs braking will suffer but to be honest I'm not real thrilled with the brakes as it is, even without towing. I use the Carbotech race line of pads for a Corvette I race on the weekends and the street pad they make in between track days. That pad is the 1521 and it by far provides the best (streetable & noise free) stopping power for the Corvette. They make this same pad for the RAM.
My thought here is that if I know this pad is best on my vette, I have to believe it will work well on the truck also. I'd mate them with a set of drilled/slotted rotors from R1.
Before laying down the cash I wanted to check to see if anyone else is using this combination and if you have any (stopping power) feedback to provide. I see several guys using Hawks here. Hawks on a vette are no better than stock. Yes, they are two different vehicles but still a sour taste has been left in my mouth with those pads.
