just got done testing the new alternator, i went with a cheap ebay one 300 shipped to the door, i am pretty impressed for 300, still going to do a clamp test to get accurate amp out puts at idle and max out put hopfully soon, stock alt the gauge would drop all the way down at idle with volume turned to 35 and with new alt doesnt move at all at 35 thats only running 2 of the 4 amps so its at 2500 rms right now so the way my set up is now just the to amps are pulling 174 amps at about 40 on volume with old crappy battery still, waiting on my dual filter intake and battery tray to finish install of second battery to hook up other two amps then it will be the real test.

I know some had questions on ho alternators, im strapped for cash so went this route sofar impressed, now the question is how long will it last!!!
no pics yet sorry computer say i gota reformat disk and if i do pics will be lost

I hope it works out for you. My 06 kept throwing over-volt codes when I would wrap the tach needle past 6,000 with only a 160 amp Durango alternator.

i think i paid 50 or 60 bucks off ebay for the intake, but anyway, i like it seems sturdy as far as performance i cant tell between my heavy wheels and 600 pounds of audio my truck will be a **** nomatter what i do to it, but needed it for the dual battery set up

I have a 2009 Dodge ram 4.7 L V8, I actually had to replace the motor in it at 160,000 miles, but since then have put a 3000 W inverter with 6000 W surge, And had to install an inverter fuse with number two cable, and a 1000 cold cranking amps gel battery for a combination of the power inverter, white bar, 48 inch stroke bar, snowplow, trailer break, and a multitude of other accessories. I have had no issues with a 250 amp alternator upgraded from the 160 amp it came with stock. Through a couple of codes on my autel maxisys when I first put it in, but I reset them and they have not come back. And I can run the alternator at idle, and produce enough wattage to use the hamburger with at least one full power tool for a portable heater to defrost the back window while plowing. This is definitely a good combination. I have 2 7 inch LEDs for reverse, a 32 inch LED light bar for the front and a 48 inch strobe on top of everything else I mentioned.
