Rick Tapp finally has his upgraded fuel system available for anybody looking to upgrade their fuel system .It's not cheap, but it's a high quality kit, that'll support 1250 hp on gas/race fuel or 1100 on E85

Thinking about doing the 32 gallon tank swap and changing out the fuel pump while I'm at it. Definitely don't need to spend this kind of money as I don't have all that extra power, but is there a good aftermarket pump recommended or available without that kind of price tag, or is oem the way to go?

Hey Rick do you think upgrading fuel rails on a mostly stock truck is a waste? Was looking to get rid of the crossover thinking it should help balance the cylinders better but not sure when the stock setup starts having issues. Figured when I get around to doing the cam and drop the 6.4 injectors in I might do the fuel rails.

The stock pumps are definitely good in these trucks. Plenty of guys running over 100,000 miles and into the 200,000 mile range on factory pump.

On a mild 6.4 the stock rails are more then adequate Khris. The stock rails are good to well over 600 rwhp.

On a bolt on 5.7 the OEM pump is still the way to go. My truck puts down 430 rwhp off the bottle, and i've never had any fueling issues. It's hard to beat the realibility of the stock pump as Khris has stated. The first step up would be to use the 6.4 pump out of the cars, supposedly it's a R&R refit, but i've never done the swap.I have a complete Hellcat basket and set-up on hand that at one point in time i was going to drop into the truck, but the trucks OEM pump has been working good so far. I've been hanging onto it,in case i ever have issues with the stock pump in either the 1320 or the truck, but so far both are working good. I run seperate stand alone fuel cells for the nitrous side of things on both,so i'm not really stressing the factory fuel systems on either.

Sounds like the 6.4 pump may be a good idea for whenever I finally get around to putting in the cammed 6.4 mmx

Good to know. I may just do it for looks then. I don’t like the crossover. The cpr fuel rails look nice and will match my catch can. And I can order the fuel pressure sensor from Rick tapp to replace the in line sensor. I am second guessing FRP for my tuning when I do the cam swap. May go with a different cam and tuner. Need to look into my options. Definitely want a mid range torque cam still

Rick Tapp is definitely one of the go-to guys for fuel system advice.Go onto some of the Hi-po car pages Khris and ask about tuners,i used to reconmend Ryan, but lately he's gotten so busy ,i'm not so sure i'd use him either now.Don't ask about tuners on the truck pages,as all you'll get is fanboys reconmending either Jay or Sean, and there's outfits like Dusterhoff / Sipple etc. which are far superior tuners these days

Yea that’s why I’m not leaning towards FRP anymore. I’ll have to find one who offers a good torque cam that works with stock 5.7 heads.

The 5.7 heads are gonna give you a higher compression ratio then you'll want on a 6.4 Srt,although on the truck 6.4 they'd make for a nice middle of the road compression ratio.
