Well performed my first mod changed out my cig plugs for usb

if you can, could you explain
the Voltage vs. AMPs on those chargers

are all cigarette lighters & USB plug ins 12 Volts ?
i see some that read 5 Amps, others read 3 Amps

How can you physically tell which USB plugs are chargers & which are only for Data

to me this stuff is like learning a new language
i don't have a Smart Phone
I hardly ever use a landline, if someone tells me to MUTE or put my phone on HOLD, or any of that stuff,
they would need to explain it in detail

The USBs will say data transfer capable , but transfer USB ports and cables will have 4 wires instead of only the negative and positive, they have a data transfer (D+) which is usually white and the data receive (D-) which is usually green ...

So 2 wires, charge only, 4 wires data transfer capable ...

How would i know what goes where

I watched 1 of the Service Advisers trying to insert a USB Thumb Drive into the ports, he plugged into each one.
He gave up & plugged in his Smart Phone & played some music through my speakers.
There does not seem to be any marking that reads Charge or Data ??

On my truck both USBs in that media hub are data transfer , so I can play music with both of them ... in your truck's build sheet it will tell you if you have charge only or the data transfer ones ... but just by looking at the hub there really is no way to know unless you plug the usb stick or what ever to them and it shows up on your screen ... I have a 3rd USB soft button on my screen but I don't know which one that is.... I guess I have 3 data transfer USB ports but only see 2 which are the ones inside the center console lol ..

looking at your hub.. it's probably going to be the SD card spot that would play music. And the cable that's plugged in right now only recognize apple device(as it was a standard) have you tried loading some MP3s on to SD card and using that? There are certain built-in interfaces and software that makes the head unit understand what it's looking at.
