Since I have heard that the 14+ maybe even 13+ models come with a wiring harness from the factory that is shorter than the 12 and prior trucks, is there a way to extend the wiring through the bundle without clipping the connector and extending it that way? Has anyone tried throwing on a V6 fan on their 14+ truck and have any issues with the harness being too short or at least having a way around it?

I noticed on all the fans that were posted that worked I checked where the connector was and it is above the mounting tab on those applications. My harness only goes to the lower part of the mounting tab, making this a hell of a stretch to reach. Is this a problem or does it fit just fine?

Also my original fan harness has only two wires where the V6 has 3?

You need to have the 14+ v6 fan, it has the same number of wires as your truck. If you ordered the '09-'13 fan it won't be plug and play. Just gotta make sure you order the V6 fan for the same year as your truck.

I haven't ordered anything yet, but I am also trying to figure out 100% what will actually be a plug n play setup for my truck I have read other threads but only one guy and his 2013 truck that used a 2009-2012 V6 E-Fan. So Hopefully someone else can confirm that I need a 2014 Fan to work with my setup?

You need a 14+ Efan if you do not want to mess with wiring.

Do you have a part number for the fan? AS far as messing with the wiring, do you mean having to cut it and extend the wiring or something else?

Yes, you must cut the wiring and extend it or you can find a male/female plug set-up and make your own extension so you do not have to cut the wiring.

I do not have the part number for 14+ v6 efan. I did put an older model fan on my '14 and had to extend the wiring. Be sure to use proper gauge wiring if you do that to avoid electrical issues (I used some heavy gauge wiring from a scrap extension cord). Once I spliced, I taped it up and it looked like it was from the factory.

How did you confirm the wiring is longer on the 14+ fans?

The newer 14+ Fans I found out are A LOT cheaper than the 09-12 fans. I wonder what changed on them? I also got the newest part number for the 13+ 3.6L Efans. 52014772AF

I used an 09-12. I guess I cannot confirm the 13+ v6 efan is the same although I would assume it is.

Buy it and try it. If the harness isnt long enough, extend it. If you don twant to do that, then dont buy a v6 efan. Pretty simple really.

I ordered the new fan. I'll be a Guinea pig and see how it's works for the 14+ guys that want the V6 fan. If I have to extend the wires I'll do it.

I run just the stock electric fan on mine, with no shroud and a 180 thermostat, even pushing the truck hard through the mountains on a 95F day,i've never seen it go over 190F,why don't you try it with just the stock e-fan first.

I already have. Through 98+ degree in heavy traffic it gets hotter than 204F. Everything mechanical is in perfect condition. I also want a true sheoud which will ultimately cool better and will get rid of the stock shroud and have a mounting place for the upper hose.

The '14+ v6 fan is completely different and is not a direct bolt on. Fan motor and electrical connector are very different from the 09-12.

I put the cheap aftermarket v6 Efan on my 15. I didn't extend the wires I just unbolted the resistor box on the fan and it gave me enough room to plug it up. It worked even though it's a 3 wire plugged up to a 2 wire. I plan on trying to swap the motor off of my factory one on to it this weekend.

Did you get the fan to work. Unfortunately I also ordered before I saw Matts post.

No, it was going to require way more work than I wanted to invest, so I returned it back to Dodge and im going to order the TYC fan just for the shroud and use my existing efan motor/blades and place it in the new shroud.
