vacuum

Can anyone tell me what the vacuum should be at idle on a 2001 5.9 gas engine? I am guessing the best place to plug my gauge into is the port just below the throttle body in the middle of the intake?. I have been told idle vacuum should read around 18" on my gauge....true?

18-22" sounds about right, yeah.

Thats where i ran mine from. It reads 19 at idle.
