So I finally got my Vararam! My wife got it for me for my birthday, gotta love it...

Installation is a breeze, pretty simple if you know what your doing. Yes I had to notch it around the A/C lines, but I knew that going into it. I also opted to trim the plastic cover for a cleaner look.

Fitment is good, I have read all the "it's flimsy" posts and yes it does seem flimsy, but it's a huge unit that is basically held on by a 3" hose so yes it's gonna be flimsy with the hood open...With the hood closed however, it seals perfectly and is nice and tight. I reached up from the bottom and tried to move it, and it doesn't budge!

Performance wise I am not only happy but pleasantly surprised. I have had a cold air intake on every car I have owned since I was 16, mostly K&N, some homemade, ebay kits, and one voolant. Honestly other than the noise of the air being sucked in, I've never really felt any noticeable difference in power...The vararam is the first one I can notice. It's not like I bolted on a supercharger, but I can feel that it pulls harder, especially in the upper RPM's, the throttle response is alittle better too across the board. I am a heavy equipment mechanic, so yes I can tell. I have to diagnose performance issues and the ever popular "It has no power" complaint alot...Most reviews are accurate that you cannot hear the sucking noise on it, however I did notice a difference in my exhaust tone, again in the upper RPM's, it is alittle deeper now...

I am extremely pleased with it, and let's be honest it is one bad$*! looking intake! My only complaint is that my wife ordered a smooth black lid so I could paint it and they sent the textured lid. However Vararam is sending my a new smooth lid free of charge, so problem fixed...

I've had mine on for a couple of weeks now and absolutely love it. I showed it to my brother in law (drives a '12 Ford F150 Platinum) and my father in law, and they both were drooling over it with the Hemi Orange lid. My brother in law wants it for his Ford now lol.

Btw he has the 6.2L engine and when he drive my truck around the neighborhood yesterday he said it definitely accelerates a lot easier than his Ford. I have to think the Vararam had a lot to do with that, because I noticed an improvement in the ease of acceleration immediately.

Like the look!

I just installed mine on Thursday. Fitment was fine and I plan on trimming the factory cover like you did.

One thing I couldn't figure out in the directions was it said to unclip the wiring harness and the horn bracket..... But it did not say what to do with them. I just left them alone

Yeah, I moved it infront of the bracket like stated then just wire tied it up...

I spoke with Andrew from BP about the wiring harness step and from looking at pics I sent him he said there was no need to do anything with the harness.

Looks good ... love mine too. Do you have a tuner? A performance tune really wakes up throttle response coupled with the mods you have.

Not yet, ported throttle body is on the list next. Then when my warranty is up, I'll get a tuner and do the Efan swap. I got a buddy who's a Chrysler tech, they can't specifically tell that you have had a tuner, but it resets a counter saying the pcm has been flashed. He said it makes them suspicious, especially if you have alot of other mods...

Only option now is the Hypertech Interceptor since it just modifies the info going into the pcm and is easy to disconnect. If I can find one used and cheap I might try it, but I'd rather have all the capabilities of the bullydog or Diablo...

Looks great. I have said it a hundred times on here about how the Vararam doesn't even belong in the same class as some of the other intakes like K&N. If you truly want power gains from an intake, the Vararam is the way to go.

That step only applies to the 09-12 trucks. The 2013's do not have to move the wiring harness. Vararam just has not made a revised set of instructions for the 2013's yet.

I still found that moving it up clear the path better. I just turned the OEM holders upside down and they now hold the harness "Up" even with the radiator support rather than hang it "Down" into the air.

Cant say enough about the looks of this set up. Gets me every time. Really nice install and I dig the black lid. Enjoy. I gotta go change my pants. Stain myself every time I see these.
