i have it on my 05. i love it. i love the look to it. onlything i noticed though, with the headers it kinda runs a little lean. But with my power wire on it puts it right in place.

For the cost and gains I would go AFE ... Just my 2cents
I have had a few customers at the shop scrap theres and went to a AFE and are very pleased .

But for looks that intake wins all day , performance .. in my line of work seeing what I see and crunching numbers .. not so much on the performance end

Have to disagree with you there. While afe makes a good cai (ran one on mine for 5yrs or so) in terms of performance the vararam kicks it to the curb. My truck ran a little over 2 tenths quicker consistently with the vararam than I was with the afe.

I will say it richened me up a bit, ditched the powerwire because of that. And the quality and fitment isnt to wonderful. Wish it was a little more refined I guess. Other than that its nice.

Vararam. Hands down, best intake for the truck. Looks AMAZING, awesome power!

I think most would say that their one complaint with the VR is that its "cheap". plastic and fit kinda sucks.

X10 on that one, ended up sending mine back after months of always adjusting it and I finally could not get by the poor quality materials. Performance and looks were great but what good is that when the filter element would not seal properly and dirt was getting into my TB! You can only tighten it so much before the plastic would buckle, finally used some 3.8 weather stripping to get it to seal but you should not have to mod a $300+ CAI. My BFI has been great so far, got lucky and found a used one and refinished it, the company was shady but the CAI was the best. OK all done, just my .02

High gloss black with gold flake and powdered clear, probably about 5 coats of powder coating!

I had the HUG from VR on my 06 and I did like it but I live in PA and we got crushed with snow that year, so I bought a cheap intake from fleabay and figured I would only run that in the summer bc I was worried about getting snow up the tubes and I ended up liking the cheap one better. I think that they are overpriced but still a good intake, I could just never get over the feeling that bc of the construction that water or snow or something was going to get into my engine. Not hating just giving my experience...I know a lot of people on here and other forums swear by them. I noticed that you live in NJ so you will see some snow so it might be something to consider...good luck on your choice, in the end they all do basically the same thing so you can't really go wrong...to each their own...
