I got a chance to take it apart yesterday and take a look at the filter. The pre filter seems to be doing exactly what it’s designed to do with no negative effect on airflow. The biggest problem other then snow that I was having was road spray in the winter was causing the filter to get dirty really fast. The filter is clean and the pre filter is stoping all that crap from dirtying my filter. I also decided to check yesterday since we got some heavy snow and I wanted to see if the filter had gotten wet at all which it hadn’t. Someone had brought up being worried about the pre filter effecting the seal, I didn’t see a problem inside the filter before the throttle body was spotless.
So if I lived in Chicago suburbs and wanted to get a Veraram then doing what you did and getting this pre filter cover will keep my filter dry and prevent any water/snow ingestion?
