The problem I see with this pre-filter is that it goes over the filter seals and will allow fine dirt and water to pass.

IMO the pre-filter should have been designed to only cover the front part of the filter.

^^^ I can't see it being a problem. Outerwears is very thin material. It should have no effect on the seal but I would keep an eye on it.

I had one on my old Blazer and a couple of small ones on the snorkels on my quad to keep the dust and water spray out of the air box and CVT.

They work very well.

I’ve been super busy lately planning my wedding and a banquet so I haven’t had time to do a through inspection. I’m off work Thursday and Friday I’ll try and pull it off and let you know.

I got a chance to take it apart yesterday and take a look at the filter. The pre filter seems to be doing exactly what it’s designed to do with no negative effect on airflow. The biggest problem other then snow that I was having was road spray in the winter was causing the filter to get dirty really fast. The filter is clean and the pre filter is stoping all that crap from dirtying my filter. I also decided to check yesterday since we got some heavy snow and I wanted to see if the filter had gotten wet at all which it hadn’t. Someone had brought up being worried about the pre filter effecting the seal, I didn’t see a problem inside the filter before the throttle body was spotless.

This is the message I got directly from them with pricing, the part number and the color options. I would use this part number as it’s the one I gave them when I ordered.

“I think we have what you need. Custom built Outerwears to fit 19 1/4 inches long x 15 1/2 inches wide x 3" tall, water repellent, no top (meaning elastic on both ends) fits Vararam Air Grabber.
Price is
25.45 for the Outerwears
15.00 custom build fee
5.00 shipping through the post office
Total order would be $45.45

Just when I was starting to lean S&B over Vararam On my Rebel cuz it’s my daily driver....

With the snow we have gotten here in Northern New York since I put this on I haven’t had a problem with my filter getting wet. It doesn’t however stop the snow from packing into in a really hard snow fall. I have yet to figure out a solution for that. I have thought about getting a pre filter made that will fit over the entire Vararam

Just ordered one of these pre filters for my Vararam. As mentioned it is PN 100-3938 for those that are interested in getting one.

Got mine today and just put it on. Very nice high quality product. It seems to make the filter "grab" the base a little better. I've always had problems with the filter popping out of the base. Highly recommend this pre filter.

The 2 biggest complaints I hear about the Air Grabber is it requires cleaning all the time and water/snow getting to the filter. This pre filter helps with both these issues
