I have a 09 ram 1500 5.7 4x4. I’ve had a recent issue with the truck. When I accelerate i have a moderate vibration or shaking. It doesn’t happen when I’m easy on the gas but as soon as I give it even a little bit more gas, it vibrates. Also at speeds above 55 mph it is very constant with the vibration. I don’t think it’s my wheel balance because it happens at lower speeds when accelerating but stops when I’m just cruising. Any advice would help. I’m not trying to take it to the shop and pay way to much money for something I might be able to fix myself.

I would start by checking the U-joints in the driveshaft. Then I'd check all of the suspension components for the rear axle. You didn't say how many miles are on the shocks, particularly the rear, but that would be next. If the shocks have fifty thousand on them, you don't need to check them. They're done.

The truck has 150,000 miles on it. I’ve replaced the front shocks but not the rear. I have the rear shocks but I haven’t put them in yet.

One more thing to check: lift the hood, put it in gear and (stepping hard on the brakes) give it just a little throttle. Have somebody peek over the fender and see if the engine is trying to roll. I was thinking that a bad motor mount might be at fault.

That's something I didn't think of. I've personally never experienced a bad motor mount so I'm not familiar with the signs. It's worth a check.

Mine does it when I get on it taking off but mine feels like it’s comes from the rear of the truck. Anyone got any ideas ? Was thinking about having a solid driveline built
