The trucks with the chrome bumpers are mounted to the frame (As any truck with a metal bumper is). The Sport and Express models are more like a car in the sense that they have a plastic (more or less) bumper attached to the frame and the bumper we see is all aesthetic and it is mounted much differently (Hence why brush guards and some bully bars won't work). Just a heads up. But, a good benefit of our bumpers is that they are somewhat adjustable.
I work on 2012+ vehicles. I had a 2013 Ram 1500 Quad Cab up on the lift and figure I peak up underneath too see how my front bumper is mounted up on the truck. The frame of the truck is what my bumper or rather our bumpers are bolted up to. I'll take a picture tomorrow if I can get one up on the lift again. I am kinda nervous seeing as the frame is bolted to the bumper![]()
