I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to car audio. Performance and suspension I know all that stuff, but audio is a different language to me. I had a small system in my old dodge. 2 12" subs, small 500 watt amp, and ran it off the factory radio. It sounded good, and bumped. This was when I was 17 and was on a budget, now I don't have a budget and want a nice sharp sounding audio system in the new truck. I still want that same bump maybe a little more :naughty:

So my question is what kind of set up you guys recommend??
My truck is a '14 crew cab with the 5.0 Uconnect touch screen with backup cam. I DO NOT wanna replace the factory unit. I like the slick "stock" look. I've never been a fan of aftermarket head units.

I wanna replace the door speakers all 4 and maybe 2 10's with a nice powerful amp.

I've got the base stereo with the 8.4" screen and I'm very impressed with just swapping out the stock speakers with Polk 3.5s in the dash and Alpine Type S 6x9s in the doors. These are running off the stock radio and sound great. I still plan to install my Alpine 10" sub and amp when I get time for some real bass but the Alpine 6x9s sound pretty damn good.

Are you going to want to amp the door speakers? and are you installing yourself?

I'll amp the door speakers as well. Like I said don't have a budget, and want the best sound I can get.

My buddy is installing the sound system, he's done tons of them on the side for years.

Replace the doors with brand you like, and maybe one 10" or two 10", and a good 5 channel amp...most have at least 500w on sub alone, and can retain factory HU.
