@Wild one is right. Battery voltage can do weird things. Even if it starts and runs a bad cell can still wreak havoc on sensative electronics.

Even if the ABS System was to completely FAIL

You would then have the Standard Braking system of a 1999 Dodge Ram.

The main difference is Stopping quickly with the Tires Sliding or Not Sliding.
Panic Stops do not count, because Panic Stopping can Override the ABS System

When your dash lights up like a Christmas tree, that is a very good indicator that your battery is going dead. It is a good time to have an old fashioned “ Toaster style” battery load test .
Dealers lie. They will look you in the eyes and smile , do not trust them .
Have every interaction documented.
Also shop around , you may find a decent one.

I saw this on another post and looked at it on ther link. I will get one. Several months ago At walmart I come out with a few items and truck woud not start. Being 74 yr old I went back in to the auto shop and asked them to help me change the battery, They told me if I bring to the shop they would work on it. I explained it was right out front in a handicap parking spot and will not crank and they repeated If you bring it to the shop we will work on it other wise we can not help ypu. So I bought some tools in walmart and got an empty cart and pulled the battery and rolled it in and bought another and put it in and left.Is there a battery name that you would suggest.

First off buy the tester in the link and test your battery before worrying about buying another battery

Today Most batteries are made by 3 companies and rebranded in another name ! Wal Mart is Johnson Controls and may also have another !
If your retires like me and get boarded Google who make batteries

Had the ABS module go in my 2018 2500, just drive it until parts came in. Brakes still work, just done have ABS working, as post above said it is just like we all used to drive. Once your dealer gets the parts installed everything will be back to normal.

The payasos probably unwittingly did you a favor.

If they had actually worked on your truck, you probably would have been on the hook for a tow to a body shop, then an engine rebuilder by the time they got finished.

Walmart batteries were rated as best a while back by a guy on utube who tested them against the competition. I don't recall the details. So, there's that.

I had the same thing, in front of Canada Tire, they would not change the battery on the wifes Honda in the parking lot. So I was wanting a new battery pack , and a large one was on sale .
So bought that and told the service writer to stick the order up his butt if he can't be bothered to walk out to the parking lot.
I did buy a new battery later, those Honda battery's are small and easy to handle, the ordinal
(2008) was OK, the replacement never made 3yrs. ( Honda Battery)
That boost pack is quite handy, and comes in a nice case. One of the guys uses the same one to boost his ford diesel and likes it.

I don't think I could lift the truck battery out any more, and soon I will have to change it.
Hand have got real bad, old age sucks, but not as bad as not .
I need to put the load tester on it one of these days.
I get trac & parking asc. lights coming on when I get ice and snow on the bumpers.
It usally just clears up next time I drive it

Does your cruise work? Usually if the ABS isn't working you don't have cruise.

No it does not. Some time I get in and lights dont come on and then cruise works. So one could say it is intermittent but it is more often lights on dash cruise not working. Seems every part has a computer attached and never any aftermarket parts available or from dealer may get rid of my Dodge 1500 but I sure like driving it.
