I have a 2013 RAM 1500 express 2wd 5,7 hemi with 65k miles. The problem I am having is the truck seems weak from a dig but pulls hard on a roll. I used my G tech and only got a best of 15.66 @94. I have seen these trucks run low 14s with ease. My bolt ons are as follows.

Mopar CAI, 93 Diablosport tune, custom dual exhaust from the converters back with flowmaster 50 series.

The truck seems to run great with no check engine lights or problems. I f anyone has any ideas please let me know. Also please no driver mod answers as I'm an experienced drag racer with hundreds of passes over 20 years.

Thanks, John

Rear gear ratio? A good set of long tube headers, and a 2800 Stall tq conv. Gear ratio at least 3.92's

456 gears and a 2600-3000 stall converter. You'll need some fat Nitto rubber to keep traction.

I had the 6 speed in my 2013 and had 355 gears and open diff, swapped to 410 gears and LSD. It was money well spent but regretted not going with the 456 gears.
That 6 speed will need 456 and limited slip diff; put that 2600-3000 stall stall converter and 456 and it will put you in the seat.

^Im with ya, Hammer. But I didn't do the stall converter.

I always say that 4.10s should have been standard with the 5/645RFE transmission. 4.10s are not short gearing in this particular application. Case in point: there are a number of us with 4.10s that have had second thought about not going 4.56.

My big ol truck is pretty damn quick for a big ol truck. It does ok on gas if I slow down a bit.

Same as I had my 11 sport, rcsb 4x4. It moved pretty well, but I expected more from a 390 hp hemi. I believe the nannies limit how the power is used.

The 6sp is geared real high and needs Low gears if you want a snappy quick truck.
Like has been stated 4:10s or lower to get the power down effectively.

Point take the same truck with 3:21s and the 8sp and it will be quicker and have better throttle response. Its not that it had more power its just putting it down better.

I drove an 8/3.21 for about 20 minutes. I'll stick with my 4.10s and Tuned 545RFE.

Why don't the 2500s even offer that fabulous 8 speed?
