Any ideas as to what could be causing the tick/rattle?

Sounds like normal injector tick to me.

Sounds like injectors. You can always throw in some redline or royal purple 5w30 and if it goes away or reduces you know it was your valve train.

PENNZOIL MARINE PREMIUM PLUS 2-CYCLE SYNTHETIC BLEND with fuel-ups helps tame injector noise.

This is the first time i’ve ever heard an engine that sounds somewhat like mine on cold starts. I do believe it’s a injector that’s on its way out. Although mines a far bit louder.

There are 2 things you can try that I know of. 1) Seafoam. 2) a can of Molybdenum that I found at Auto Zone in a gray can that says it can be added to the fuel. I can say that Mopar fuel injectors can be louder than some other manufacturers injectors and it’s normal.

I would hope its not an injector I haven't even rolled over 70k miles yet I'm 200 miles away from 69k (had to add that in there lol)

Nice thing is if something goes I have complete coverage until I think 112k miles!

@Brandon-w @Elevated 2013 I hear it more when its just started. Sometimes I will get a awkward rattle in there with it as well which was in the video just tough to hear. I also hear it as I start to accelerate it gets faster and a little louder but then gets quieter when the engine gets to operating temp

Injectors on these trucks are loud to start. I have a vararam intake so it allows more noise than normal since I removed the cover.

Do you hear it more on 1 side of the engine than the other? Might want to chance all of your exhaust manifold bolts and heat shields on the exhaust. Especially if you hear it more at idle than when you’re cruising along.

@Ohio5pt7 don't think its anything to worry about?
Injector noise no. Even some valvetrain noise isnt a huge concern unless it gets super noticeable. Mine started its hemi tick @ 10k switched to royal purple 5w30 and it's gone. 50k now no issues. I still hear my injectors though.

Is that something where you can just ask the shop to use that oil instead? Don't hate me but I haven't learned how to change my own oil yet.

Ill make sure to listen on the passenger side. I just hear it when I get into my truck. Never really go to the other side lol

Never seen a shop that will actually put any oil in besides what is recommended by the manufacturer. You may be able to ask but definitely dont ask your dealer.

Nice thing about my shop is that they do a lot of performance/aftermarket stuff that is not street legal so I wouldn't be surprised that he would do it. They are awesome

This, injectors on these trucks are VERY loud on cold starts. It’s normal and nothing to worry about.
