I have an 07 Megacab 5.9. I work in the oilfield so i am gone for 2 weeks and leave my truck at the airport for 14 days. When I get in my truck and start it, shift into drive, apply the gas pedal, my truck just revs up. No movement. I have to rev it up a few times to get the tranny to engage and then it's a little movement at a time as if the tranny is slipping. Once it gets going I have absolutely no issues at all the whole time I'm home. I have asked my mechanic what the problem was and got a shrug. Do I need to flush my tranny, change fluid and filter, adjust anything??? I'm not mechanically inclined so I had to post on forum. I bought the truck used and have only had it about a year. So I don't know of any prior issues. Thanks for any feedback.

Like the TSB says...converter drainback. Nothing bad, seems to happen more with non-oem filters.

That TSB is inapplicable to his truck, he has a megacab 5.9 cummins, which means he has the 48RE transmission, not the 45/545RFE that TSB applies to.

Though it could be a similar issue, there could be other problems as well. If I recall there was a check valve issue common in the 44/46/48 RE series units that could cause issues such as this. Some searching ought to turn something up.
