Well had some engine trouble today.

So for the past few days when I have gotten out of my truck, I have smell the familier smell of coolant... so today I decided to go hunt it down. Well long story short it was leaking around my water pump. So I replaced the gasket, and I'm hoping that fixes it. I guess ill find out tomorrow. Ill keep you posted.

Edit: its not back together yet will be driving my wife's car to work in the morning, so I can still replace it if I have to. Also do I need to put the orange Dex cool back in it or can I go with regular antifreeze/coolant?

Hope ya get it fixed...I would have replaced the water pump too while I was there...if it were me.

EDIT: Just read your edit...your coolant is NOT Dexcool...it is a "extended life, 100,000 mile" coolant...it is a HOAT type coolant, Dexcool is OAT.

Like said above, you need a HOAT coolant, so basically I'd just stick with Mopar brand to be safe.

If you have a local Napa around you, they have Zerex G-05 which is an HOAT coolant and cheaper option then the Mopar stuff.
