Figured my '14 SRW 3500 6.4 Tradseman with 55k was getting tired. Lol...
Found a Bighorn, but am having a hard time spending 8k more than a tradesman.

So, the biggest complaint I have with my truck, is no steering wheel audio controls. Now I found out a steering wheel swap is a plug and play deal.

Next I want remote start. Every dealer I've been to, wants to send truck out for a aftermarket system. Now I'm finding it's easy to add a factory remote start. Correct??

The only other option is can live without, but would be nice is heated seats and steering wheel.

So I found two trucks I like at two different dealers. Ones blue, others luxury brown.
Liking the brown better.

Wife is really giving me the stink eye. Lol....

If I am remembering right it seems about half of the Big Horns have this and half don't.

I'm in the same boat with my Outdoorsman. I actually thought I had it when I bought my truck but was looking at several build sheets and got confused. It wouldn't have made a difference anyway but I'm still bummed. I'll never forget the day I picked my truck up I drove a couple hours and met my wife at a vacation spot. We went outside and it was cold and I couldn't wait to fire up my seats and steering wheel. Sat there confused for a minute looking where I knew the buttons were. Dammit!!! :favorites13:

I can imagine the let down. Lol

These two trucks are tradesman. One dealer said I can add heated seats for around $450. Said it's a kit and he's added a few to caravans. Didn't clarify if these kits were Mopar or aftermarket.

The Bighorn I looked at was almost 9k more. It had heated seats and steering wheel. It would automatically turn on with the remote start if the ambient temperature was below 40*. My wife's Jeep has that feature.

Id be curious on the kit for the Caravan they are using. My wife has a 2013 Caravan with cloth seats and since they are glued to the foam you can't do with without a major headache. Its probably an aftermarket kit for that price, its fairly straightforward to do on our trucks, but a major pain in the Caravans.

My 17 Big Horn does not have heated seats or steering wheel either. I wanted cloth interior and I suspect cloth does not offer the option (edit. apparently you can get it with cloth). Interestingly I thought all Big Horns came with the feature, but the lack of it does not bother me being in a warm climate.

edit: apparently it's an option available with the Big Horn 27S package. Costs around $400.

My factory remote start doesn't have very good range maybe 200 ft. My last truck I could start from my office at work approx. 800 ft. W/ a viper remote start. And I have the big horn with heated seats and steering wheel wasn't looking for it when I bought it but it sure is nice on a 5° morning.

On the 2017 trucks, adding factory remote start is really easy. All you have to do is wire in the switch, update your key fobs with an inlay with the remote start button, then have the dealer essentially "turn it on" in your BCM and RF hub. The range does suck though. Depending on where you are and how much "stuff" is in the way, you might get 300 feet, or you might only get 100 feet. If you have Uconnect, you can use the phone app to start your truck apparently.

Adding the radio buttons to the steering wheel is even easier. There's a how-to thread in the DIY section.

I have a loaded 12' Laramie, literally every option in the book. But I also spent 6 months looking for it. Wasn't to worried about the age of it after looking on this forum I see a lot of guys have them for a long time and put a ton of miles on the 5.7's. It will be my last truck for hopefully another 10 years and I can hand it over to my boy. With that in mind I didn't want to give up an luxury. So it has the heated and cooled leather seats, auto climate control, 4x4, dvd player, nav, remote start and the list goes on and on. Then I started adding things to it. 3 weeks and 1k later I have it where I want it. Not bragging, I actually lucked into it. When I called the dealer I didn't know it had any of those options, I just saw the pic and went to look at it. Got a great deal on it so I pulled the trigger. It had been on the lot for about 2 months. I also lucked out with the warranty. The dealer originally told me it was out of warranty. Which would make sense being a 12'. But it wasn't sold new until mid 14' So a little bonus there too. Plus they added a certified warranty on top of it. What will suck is when I get rid of it and get another I will need to go through the same process and it will probably hurt my checkbook a whole lot more.
