HAHA! Well, get out the hair drier, man!
Just rough measuring my 06 and 01 the 06 grill will come down lightly below the headlights. There not a problem for me as I have the 4th gen bumper so I have about 3" play up or down. May have to add a filler piece below the headlights

Well grill came in today got excited and was going to try and mount it... And it's cracked so I sent it back to exchange it. Here is the grill I'm talking about.
If everything works out I'm going to make a "RAM" badge (like the new trucks) and make it RGB

My Ram sat the day out. Next week it goes in for gears and a rear tru trac.

We went over to Arkansas and brought this old gal home. She'll run but needs TLC. Nice driveable project.IMG_20190222_125407.jpg

For you young'ns, it's a 1966 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible. 320 horse 383 (4bbl carb). 1st year for tilt /telescoping steering. Has AC, floor console and buckets.

Very cool!

Well, finally broke down and ordered some headlights for mine. Had been wanting some aftermarkets anyway, but it wasn't really a priority. Corner lens falling off and bouncing down the highway kinda moved it up the list.

Today...after almost 18 years of ownership,

I finally get gears for the truck. 4:10s and a rear Detroit tru-trac. All new seals, and a transfer case saver.

I've read of this "case saver" before but I've since forgotten. All I remember is it preventing some kind of potentially catastrophic problem in the transfer case. Care to enlighten my foggy memory?

Also, you like the 4:10s? Thinking about getting a set myself, though this year may or may not be a go. Got a Benjamin's worth of expenses but only a Jackson in my pocket, LOL.

The TransfercaseSave is basically a block that eliminates a snap ring in the tail housing that has been known to break and when it does it cracks the case open

http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cat...placements_and_parts/transfer_case_saver.html

The last incident I saw had the mangled T-case laying on the ground with the driveshafts laying by it. The carnage happened out in the desert and the T case and shafts were removed so the truck could towed to the nearest pavement and be hauled away. Looked like a mangled corpse with transmission fluid for blood. The rear driveshaft was fubared as was the pinion yoke.

Once the snap ring breaks, the T-Case chain and output gears literally tear and churn their way into the rear T-case housing, until it breaks. The offending snap ring is replaced by a 2 piece collar...see link.

In other news, we now have the convertible licensed and registered in our names.
