You're right. I just tend to shy away from using white lithium because back in the day when I was kind of an idiot, I sprayed that stuff HEAVY everywhere there was a moving part. To this day, I'm still dealing with dirty goop on my door hardware because of that. I've thought about nuking the stuff with degreaser, but I don't want to thrash the paint in the process. I'm thinking Simple Green is supposed to work well, and if it'll sheer the gunk without frigging up the paint, I might try it next week.
