Decided to ditch the stock fan clutch and small electric a/c fan for the larger V6 fan and shroud combo. The hardest part was loosening the nut for the fan clutch. Once that was done it was pretty fast and painless.

Found a replacement at Advance Auto. Was hoping to swap out the thermostat today, but that will have to wait for another day. As far as the fan swap...didn't require any modification, zip ties, or anything else. Was a straightforward plug and play deal.

Looks so much cleaner with the e-fan!!! Does swapping to a v6 e-fan require a tune to signal when to turn on and off the fan? or are the parameters built into to a stock truck tune? I have only ever done an e-fan swap on my 03 Silverado SS and that had to be retuned to be able to control the fan

I had the new BBK tuned-length ceramic-coated shorty headers installed. (Plus new spark plugs) The tech called me when it was done and said the driver’s side is leaking. He couldn’t pinpoint where the leak was. First he said it was coming from the collector, then when I got there to pick my truck up, he changed his story and said it was coming from the front of the flange because of an emissions port that was in the way. At that point, I knew I’d never come back to this shop again.

I scheduled an appointment with another shop for a 2nd opinion and to evaluate how the initial install looked. The tech told
me that the driver’s side header is leaking where the #2 cylinder header pipe meets the flange due to a manufacturing defect. The tech took photos and documented it for me so I could send the photos to American Trucks for proof.

A day and a half goes by with no response to my email. When I got home from work, I called American Trucks to set up an exchange under warranty. After 20 minutes of back & forth conversation and being put on hold so he could talk to his supervisor, which was basically them trying to get out of replacing them, a new set is on the way with prepaid return shipping. Not a great first impression of their customer service. But, they made it right, so, I’m good. (I won’t buy anything else from them)

2 questions: is that an OEM fan from a 2012? And where did you score that?

During the winter I cracked my driver side mirror. They’re so expensive and currently not in my budget.
So for about $100 I bought mirror covers and arm covers.

No this ain’t a permanent fix but it’ll work for now.
Then the next day I ordered a set of door handle covers, tailgate handle cover and a 3rd brake light trim ring. This was another $60.
I also got new headlights H9 low beams & 9011 high beams. $25

These were all separate things so I think I’m still in the under $100 class.

Thanks. I love chrome though. I guess it’s cause I’m a retired truck driver.

Installed Tailgate assist last week and this week was BakFlip MX4. Also have an Amp Research Bed Extender on the way. Gotta love those tax refunds.

Not much but I installed some wadestar blind spot mirrors. Had a set on my old truck and really missed them Also picking up a mufflex 14 for $50 this week. A friend put it on his truck and it wasnt loud enough for him. We'll see if its loud enough for me.

When I was in the market for a more throatier exhaust, a lot of people said that mufflex was on the quieter side, that’s why I went Carven progressive. Love it.

But did you ever hear that muffler on your buddy’s truck? There’s probably not gonna be much difference.
