Replaced my lower intermediate steering shaft today. Seems better, even after lubing the old shaft it didn't want to return to center very well if at all. When I got the old one off the u joint wasn't locked up, but I also sprayed the crap out of it.

So I searched the forum for a thread like this and didn't find anything. I figured it would be fun to have a thread that everyone can watch what everyone is doing each week.

This week I put on Steelcraft nerf bars, and right now I'm getting the permaplating put on the truck. This way it gets a real good bath.
Posted a couple weeks ago about wanting to get a coat of wax before the pollen explosion.

Nothing new of course, happens every spring but this coating happened in approximately 8 hours, was barely noticeable when I parked it.

I’m very grateful I don’t suffer from hayfever, can only imagine how bad this is for them.

lol - bought it..... Dealer had the black one at their lot forever, has dreaded hemi tick / cam issue, but for the price I could not say no.
2015 mega cab AEV Prospector
AEV lift, AEV wheels, 37" KOs, AEV Winch bumper with Warn 16.5 winch, AEV interior.
Boss 9.2 poly V plow
Nav, Ramboxes, sunroof

Sold my duramax plow truck to pay for new motor, wasn't much more in cost than a cam replacement, and 3year/100,000 mile warranty.

Washed the pollen off before work and then took the owner’s parking spot, he is rarely there on the weekends, but still felt good to pretend that I had my own reserved spot. It even has the “your vehicle will be towed threat”.
Back to reality Monday, finding a spot next to someone that will be careful opening their door, hopefully.

Took the camper to Lancaster for a great weekend with the kids and grandkids. This was our last night there, got back a few hours ago. The camper on the left is my daughter and son in laws and my granddaughter Laney and the one on the right is mine. My son and his girlfriend came out as well as my other daughter, son in law and 3 grandkids. No issues for our 1st time out this season and truck ran great. No steering issues whatsoever, so I am going to call it fixed with the new lower intermediate steering shaft I put on last week.

What campground were you at? Looks nice. We've been out there a few times at a couple different places.

This was the New Holland/Lancaster KOA. My in laws go to Sills alot. The KOA is very nice, just not alot to do at the campground, but it's Lancaster so plenty to do in the area. It's a quiet and very well maintained campground with really nice sites. I stay at a few KOAs and this is one of the nicest.

Yes - we've been at that KOA, actually a couple of times, and you are 100% correct, it is nice there. Think we've been at Sills as well. We don't really need a lot to do at the campgrounds either. We're more into site-seeing around the areas we go to. love Gettysburg, what a place for history buffs like me.

Yeah, I loveeeeeee history, but my wife hates it. I like to watch discovery and she'd rather watch law and order svu. We're actually taking a train to Savannah, Georgia at the end of the month. My wife is willing to do some history site seeing with me since she really wanted this trip. Her niece moved there or close and we're rented a condo at Hilton head to visit an old work friend. Only about an hour drive between the 2. I've stayed at a few others in Lancaster (country acres and hickory run).

LOL - yeah, my wife was the same way, Hershey was more to her liking - LOL, but she's come around and now seems to enjoy those places. Although the TV situation is exactly the same! We've been to Lake Lanier a couple times (outside of Atlanta), but haven't been to the shore area down there. In fact, we don't even go to the Jersey shore up here either. Being a red-head, my wife goes from white to burnt in about 20 minutes, no in-between, so the mountains are more our speed.

Oh - and be sure to let me know how the train ride was - I retired two years ago after 25 years at Amtrak. My avatar pic was taken at 30th St Station in Philly. Are you doing the sleeper car?

Traded the dependable, non ticking '16 Ram for a '24 Laramie with eTorque. I hope it was not a mistake, but my wife insited I trade for a newer truck when she realized the '16 had 171k miles and was 10+ years old. She wanted me driving a newer vehicle since I am in sales and travel frequently. She also adked me to buy something bright and easy to see...did not like the silver color, blends too much with roads when overcast or raining.
She only had to ask twice, but after the first ask, I was on the hunt and located a white '24 with 54k miles priced to sell. Dealership is offering lifetime powertrain warranty with one caveat...i have to have all service performed at their dealership which is GMC/Cadillac. I am on the fence with this one, as I know the cost for service will be expensive at the dealership and which bulk oil will they be using? I asked my sales rep if I could bring my own oil and just pay for labor. Have not heard back yet.

In my experience any service done by the dealer is typically too expensive, and takes three times as long as it should (hour plus for oil changes!). Perhaps your experience is better…but I’d question the value if they have to do all the service.

Went out and got new front pads and rotors. With the upcoming crappy weather wind/rain/mixed frozen etc., I decided to move my shelves more to the far side of the garage backwall so I can back the trucking instead of having to go in at an angle. The shelf edge was where the short orange tape was. The long orange tape is the middle point of the garage. My wife's Mustang stall haha. With the truck backed in, I now hvave 26" in front now instead of the 4" previously. This old fart's back was hurting enough that I am postponing the brake work until next week when my work week is done.

We left out of the 30th st station Friday afternoon and traveled overnight to Savannah, GA. We are actually staying on Hilton Head Island, SC. We did not get a sleeper car. My wife had a ticket for a work trip that she got reimbursed for and the trip was canceled so we had the credit from her sleeper car trip to use by May and wanted to visit Savannah and friends in Hilton Head. Train ride was about 13 or 14 hours and we barely slept a wink. Went and got our rental and grabbed some coffee and breakfast at a close by wafflehouse and then drove to Hilton Head and killed time till we could do a pre check in at noon at our condo. Went to the pool bar and had a few drinks, went shopping and then finally our condo was ready. Stayed up till 8pm and then crashed for 12 straight hours.
