This weekend is detail weekend. There's almost as much dog hair in the truck as there is on the dog. German Shorthair Pointer fur is somehow magically resistant to the vacuum.

The stuff is like cat hair! Just weaves its way into your fabric instead of just sitting on top. I had a Lab/Shepard mix growing up and it was the same thing.

Dude I detailed cars for 10 years and we would always go extremely out of our way to try to avoid the vehicles with insane dog hair in them to the point we would almost fight to not have to do them. It was horrible because dog hair would only add 1hr (flat rate) to the vehicles time but sometimes take 2-3hrs to get out of it was bad enough and it was just the quickest way to ruin your day.

In the future when I have another dog, I refuse to let it into my vehicle without having leather seats. Even then, it finds its way into the carpets and even the perforated holes of the leather seats. It’s a mess.

Sounds like you bent a bunch of suspension parts and the alignment shop just adjusted the bent parts to make it aligned again. No way does a wheel go 1/8th to the side on a rock hit and nothing got bent or broke.

I drove right through it. Not the first time, rocks and big ruts have a tendency to walk in front of you when you're going a little fast on desert roads and washboards. :) Perhaps you're imagining i hit a car sideways, this was more of a boulder around the size of medium size soccer ball. I've hit my front or rear harder, nothing have broken so far, nothing is bent.
Just snapped this pics couple of min ago. I do my suspension wrenching, i'll know if something is bent or broken.
In this case my passenger tire was toe in, i felt it a little while after it hit the boulder, so to compensate i tried driving over some smaller things with the driver side, that one got toe out haha but in much lesser scale. The shocks can absorb a lot of the bad hits assuming you can drive over stuff going straight. Nothing will save you from a sideway hit.

Hmm... In all my years I’ve never heard of someone hitting a massive rock or object or even pothole and there wheel goes sideways and they still go straight and then they have to hold the wheel crooked to drive straight, I’ve never seen that without some sort of bent or broken part. But I’m glad that is not the situation for you, just an easy fix then.

Been there.....

Leather seats and Husky liners added :waytogo:

Doesn't stop the explosion of dog hair, but definitely makes vacuuming it up easier.

Lift, wheels and flares done today.

A lot more to do tomorrow that will continue to completely change my truck.

**** The rear seems lower than the front because of the weight in the bed of the truck is around 300 pounds, or more, so it’s sagging a little bit. Should even out once the springs and struts settle and I remove the stuff from the bed. ****

Looks great. Flares tires and rims all look well balanced.

Found a pair of OEM running boards locally. Install was a bit more difficult than anticipated, as prior owner apparently had aftermarket
boards that he took off and broke 4 of the bolts in the process. Drilled them out, added some new jack nuts, and should be all set now! Before and after. Also pictured, the mud flaps from earlier this week. (I know, I know...wash the damn truck).

Installed HIDs from Retroshop. Rewired my President Bill CB to eliminate the 12v adapter.

My truck is a 2009 1500 4x4 with 3.92 axles. When I got it last month I reset the average fuel economy reading and after a week of driving it it was at 11.7 mpg. That included a 100 mile freeway drive but otherwise just driving it around. I installed a BakFlip MX4 bed cover and reset the average again. After a week it's up to 14.6. taking it on a 600 mile trip this week towing my 1962 Shasta and I'll reset it again and also calculate it. I'm not expecting great mileage but would like more than 11. Last time I made this trip was in my 1978 Suburban and I only got 12 mpg. That only has a 3 speed auto in it though.

You just wont see great MPG with the 6 speed. I don't think the 8 speeds are much better. I average 14. Best that I have ever seen was 16. Its not about the mpg its about the smiles per gallon.
