I know, and I know that but this thread is pretty much kinda like Pandora’s box. I highly doubt the author of it suspected some of the things “mentioned”. I dunno, I just kinda have a feeling a little more thought would have been put into it like, how come they don’t make the Rebel with air conditioned seats, or why is it that only the 2500’s and the 3500’s come with power-folding tow mirrors but the tow mirror-equipped half-tons don’t come with the power-fold option? Most certainly not, “I don’t like the color” or “I don’t like the auto-park stuff. I just find it amusing.I'm not making a big deal of it. The title of the thread is "What don't you like about your Ram". So i posted my list.
Hmm, my 08 Ram didn’t have one, or not that I knew of. If it did, 10 years and 70,000 miles later, it didn’t need changed. The 05 Stratus I had didn’t have one, nor did the 04 Dakota the ex-wife kept. Neither did my old 98 half-ton, my old 96 Dakota or that Plymouth I said my mom had, didn’t.Most cars have replaceable fuel filters. More have them then don't. 10+ years ago almost every vehicle had one. It's only more recently with the advent of plastic fuel tanks that separate filters have been going away.
Gas pumps have a basic spin on type filter that traps dirt and sediment. It doesn't stop water. These filters are offered in 10 Micron or 30 Micron versions. Most gas stations opt for 30 micron so they last longer.[/quote]
There may be some who don’t filter it out but they should have sensors in the underground tanks that sense water intrusion.
But they must be doing something right because I’ve never had a filter plug up.
It’s pointless anyway if you’re going to reputable stations. It would be pointless unless i dropped the tank and removed the in-tank filter.
It’s still possible either way.If their wasn't a TIPM you could still add on all those upgrades but it wouldn't require any computer program to make them work. You would just plug stuff in and be done. The TIPM just introduced more work and risk for people wanting to make upgrades.
What are you implying? Kind of an obnoxious thing to say. Once again, i didn't just randomly create a thread complaining about me truck. I was responding to a thread topic created by someone else asking what i don't like about my truck. That's it. Nowhere did i say "i can't stand modern advancement" I'm all for technology that makes things better. The TIPM doesn't make our trucks better. It makes them worse. Plenty of facts to back that up too. Chrysler didn't add the TIPM to their cars to make the consumers lives easier. They did it to save them money.
I was just stating what it sounded like to me, sorry to imply anything.
But Chrysler’s not the only thing that uses sales codes to make stuff work. They’re all guilty of it.
And yes, again, I know all you’re doing is just simply replying to this thread but it’s the level of defense about fuel filters no less that lead me to believe you weren’t crazy about anything new because of how they are.
