So I just stepped up from the 3rd gen spot to the 4th gen...Got a 2013 1500 sport today. Pretty sick too, it has the R/T hood :) So I am looking to do some mods, but dont want to void my warranty. Any ideas? I guess an intake wouldnt void anything, but would a ported throttle body? or maybe a torque converter? I had a superchips programmer on my 08 Hemi, wasnt too impressed, couldnt ever get it to install the updates. So thanks in advance for any ideas.

Congrats on the new truck. The throttle body would be the least detectible mod for the dealership. As for intakes, I would go with the Vararam. It is going to give you the best performance, and it works amazing with our TB's. Its a very tough combo to beat.

BTW...our sale price on the 2013 TB's ends tomorrow night at midnight. Normal price on these is $389.99, but we have them marked $40 off for the month of March at only $349.99. We also have the $15 off and free air filter cleaner deal on the Vararam kits through tomorrow night as well. Just use coupon code VR15 at checkout, and you are set.

On the 2013's, we actually only offer the 87mm. We tested both the 85mm and 87mm on the 2013's, and the 87mm performed better even on a stock truck. No point in offering a lesser quality part, so we are sticking with only the 87mm on these.

what kind of gains do you see with the 87mm TB?

Increased throttle response, about 12-15hp, some have seen up to a 1mpg increase in fuel mileage, and the truck just runs much better and smoother. For an easy Bolton mod, it is tough to pass up.

Ported TB would be an awesome first mod. I don't know why I didn't go this route. S&B isn't a power upgrade.

Aside from the Vararam kit, an intake alone doesn't make a huge improvement...but once you combine that with a TB, better flowing exhaust, and a tuner, you will see the gains form your S&B.

Will the ported TB void the warranty?

The only way it voids the warranty is if the dealership can prove the mod is what created the problem, and like stated, and shown above in the pics, no one will know unless they either take off your intake runner, and look down at the butterfly valve, or check the serial numbers.
