Hey everyone I have a 02 quad can 1500 that needs brakes done real soon. Question is what brakes would you guys recommend to get? I need rotors and pads. I was talking to my one neighbor and he was saying get the cheapest rotor and then hawk pads. But wanted to know your guys opinions or suggestions.

I've have the regular rotors from advance auto with the ceramic coated pads and haven't had any issues at all they are wearing great the truck dosent shake at all while braking. Parts like that I like buying local they carry lifetime warranty so if you have any issues bring them back up there and get a new set no problem now if you want to do an upgrade kit that get pricy but check out Moes hes a vendor on the site he has good pricing and you can't beat his customer service.

I have DBA slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads on my G8 and the difference it made was ENORMOUS!! Don't cheap out on brakes. It's the only thing stopping you!

If you just want new pads and rotors, and don't care about increased performance, then any of them from an auto parts store will suffice. Ceramic don't offer a lot of bite, but the also don't dust nearly as much as the ones that do offer the bite.

All I know is I hate dust lol. I was hoping to get a pad that is low on dust but good. My brakes right now when braking my truck shakes so I'm hoping to do soon.

Unfortunately they kind of go hand in hand. Ceramics will be nearly dust free and they're a good street brake. The next level up is the Hawk HPS IMO and they do dust, but not like a BMW does from the factory.

What hawk pads do you recommend? I see autoanything has a couple to pick from, but the performance doesn't sell rear set for me?

I'll have to read up, I'll be honest I know nothing about brakes really. When I had a car before I just bought basic stuff from Pepboys. Now that I have rims and everything I want it to be clean and brake good.

I was told that with trucks rotors are really just rotors and you wouldn't feel much difference with slotted, is this true? Also heard drilled warp easy? I'm a noob so any info is great!

I've had the brake motives for 3yrs and they have worked fine. It is now time for me to change my setup. Not sure what direction I'm going now.

Drilled crack easily where they're drilled. It's not an issue when the brakes are larger than OEM and not cheap Chinese crap. Slotted help evacuate the gasses formed while braking, allowing the pad to do its intended job better. If you want clean, go with Hawk Ceramics.

What series Dodge Ram do you have? We carry brake pad and rotor kits. I run them on all of my vehicles, they work awesome.

I like the EBC brakes bc there good with heavy trucks and taller tires. Idk what you have done to your truck but that's just my preference.

I run drilled and slotted with ceramic pads. Stops nice and keeps the wheels clean.

Sorry haven't posted. My truck is a 02 1500 2wd. I have chrome 22's on the truck. I will be plasti-dipping the rims though soon.

Haven't been able to purchase brake stuff yet been busy but need to soon truck shakes when braking. I'm just confused on what to get. I thought of getting rotors from advance auto and then buying hawk pads but wasn't sure. I honestly just want a good brake, I don't need the worlds fanciest system because its my truck not a race vehicle, but I still don't want junk.
