I'm looking for a place to tap into 12v power in my 2013 Express, and I found this empty plug hanging above the gas pedal. Anyone know what it's for or if I can use it for my footwell LEDs?

Can anyone else advise if this is a good place to tap into for footwell lighting?

If it has switched +12V I'd go for it, if it were my truck. LEDs have such a low power draw it would tough to hurt anything.

Your best bet is to test it with a multimeter with the ignition off. And turn it on and test it again. Do you have a multimeter?

I don't have a multimeter, but I'll ask around.

I used that to tie my radar detector and Garmin on a switched source. The end to me looked like the end that goes into the back of a 12V cigarette style power source.

That might be a "13" thing. It took my awhile for me to find a switched source under the dash. I had many unused plugs. Most were always hot, or a different voltage. I finally found one on the trailer brake controller.

Did you cut off the connector and use the wires, or just tap into it with something? Any pics or information on what you used or did would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks. I've got the factory trailer brake group, so it's got to be the power pedal. Still haven't gotten around to it yet hahaha.
