What should it cost?

For 2 10" kicker "R" subs a 600 amp + plus a box and installed in my Ram R/T? Never done any kind of stereo upgrades. Got a quote but I'm thinking it's pretty high.

From a professional shop you are probably looking on the upwards of near $1k if not more, depending on the shop and how much they charge for labor. Me personally if I were you, I'd make my own fiberglass box. I did that in my last truck and it optimized all the air space I could get, I was running 2 kenwoods then when they blew I ran 2 kicker cvr's

Well you have roughly 260 in subs, depends on your amp need more specs. are they going to build a custom box? or pre-fab? what size of wiring? brand of wiring? off of this play into the cost.

i would guess labor is roughly 75-100/ hr. most places charge a flat fee for the amp install

a rough guess 750-1000

I did my custom box myself for probably a total of $50-$75 for the box alone

Made my own to fit my Reg Cab and this is a big maybe have 75 bucks into furnature grade birch. Took a little time but came out great plus I have enough room to drop in a sub that is about 6 or so inches deep. If you do a bunch of youtubing and things like that you will be able to do some of this yourself, like the install. Good luck and 1400 bucks really isn't outrageous if it is good work.

Does the shop have any pics of their work? If they do and they look over the top then its worth it.

I just had my 2 12's and 2 amps installed under my rear seats, I already had the box but for the labor was 350...and the install was clean. That quote seems a little high even with a 300-500 box build

That seems a bit high, but like mentioned above, there are some variables we do not know about...amp model # being one...
custom subwoofer boxes can get expensive, but they look really nice when done correctly.
