It's an 11 and yes. His performance tune going in this morning is for 100hp and 200lbs torque, I'll be good.

acceleration wise, but curious how it will do on the highway. It will probably stay in OD most the time.

I know they are already bigger from the factory an I want 6" with 37 but I dunno how bad it is on all the joints an stuff an whether or not you need spacers. I just did 6" an 35 on my 1500 an needed spacers an it bogged it down a good bit.

Not too bad on the ball joints or hub bearings. The 2500/3500 suspension will take that no problem unless you go super wide or beat the snot out of your truck.

A Cummins will handle 37's even with stock gears no problem however I got sick of it really quick as it just didn't feel right in town or on the highway. It was at too low of an RPM for any given speed/gear which is hard on the drivetrain. I ended up rear gearing to 4.56's. Slightly low for 37's on the highway but gives me the option to bump up to 40's if I ever want to.

Then I have to buy new wheels too

Not necessarily. I run 37's on my stock wheels with 2" BORA spacers for my winter setup. No it's not near as nice as my summer setup, but you don't NEED new wheels.
However, in the grand scheme of things wheels are cheap compared to the overall cost of your truck. So I'd just go for it.

10" suspension
3" body
40x15.50
24x14-76

For the love of all things holy do NOT put a body lift on a 2500/3500 truck. Completely unnecessary when you have the option of going huge with suspension only.

OP... i see you are in MS... if you dont drive much, and I assume their arent any huge hills in your area, you MIGHT be ok with a 6.4 truck.

If you run 37s on either motor, you are going to want to regear (assuming 3.42s). Above ~50 mph, both trucks are going to be hunting gears. Below 50, the diesel will be OK and the gas will be a **** lol.

gasser.. you bought a 12 right? 3.73 gears on 37s?

Exactly what SilverSurfer said ^^. I wouldn't run 3.42's and 37's for a second as I know it would hate it. As I stated above, 3.73's and 37's was bad enough. Regearing is the best thing you can do performance and drivability wise when running larger tires.

By far the most popular setup for Cummins owners is a leveling kit and 35 inch tires. But some of us just want to go larger!

Diesels are holding their value big time.

Tell me about it, I bought my old 07 BigHorn new for roughly 31K, and now they still sell here in Cali with 120k in the ticker and clean for 25-28k Its ridiculous. I shouldn't have let mine go.

But as for tire size and lift, whats the Budget? I'd say for just a lift a 6" BDS with 37's. If you don't want to go that high and get a good ride with a healthy budget I'd go with the Carli Commuter and a set of 35's.

But I think with the size of the body lines 37's tucked in are what fit the truck on a aesthetic standpoint.

The truck has 3.42 in it but I doubt I'll ever regear it so if 37 are too much for it I don't need them. An yes I live in MS but for now I'm in Iowa working.

Stick with the 35s then, they still look good with 4-5 inches and 35s. Thats still the equivalent of like 8-9 inches of lift on a 1500 :Big Laugh:.....:disgust:...:(

I say go 37's. I am running a 6" lift with 37x22.5r20's in my 1500 with 3.92s and the truck does not struggle at all. I recalibrated the speedometer for the tires which in turn corrected the shifting for the transmission. The truck drives like a dream and will burn the 37s no problem. Your truck will handle them easily!!!
