What the foam

I pulled the engine cover off my 6.4 this afternoon and found an impressive amount of foam padding underneath. I also found a high chunk of foam padding around the throttle body.

Why the hell is there this much packing material on the top end of the engine?

Then there’s this foam air tube insulator.

They are trying to cover up the hemi tick.
