Seriously thinking of getting a TC from Moe's. I understand how they work but I'm not quite sure which one to get. I have the 6spd tranny. Its a DD so I don't want the stall real high. Want to hear from some guys that are running one. What do you think about them? What one did you get? 2600 2800? Thanks

This is going to come down to how you are using the truck. Do you do any towing or offroading? Also, what size tires are you running?

For the everyday street truck that only does light towing or minimal off roading, I would go with a 2800. If you tow often or like to play offroad, then a 2600 will be a better option. The only time I recommend a 3000+ is for the guys that strictly use the truck as a toy.

And the 11" is perfect for a street truck.

I would go with a 2800-3000 Circle D. I run big tires most of the time and can't really tell a difference from stock. I've ran the same one in 2 different trucks

I just ordered my 3000 stall tc on Friday. It will be installed at the end of the month. I am certain I will love it, but will post a review after the install!! Good luck making up your mind, but I am absolutely sure if you talk and listen to matt, you will be more than pleased!!

Do they only flash to the stall setting when you mash it? If I'm driving around with part throttle it will drive normal correct? What are the risks for the tranny using a higher stall TC? More friction means more heat correct.

I have stock size tires and I don't tow. I only go off road once and awhile and it is just dirt/gravel logging roads.

Whatever stall speed you choose, it'll be a vast improvement over the stock converter. Stick with the stock 11" diameter because the 2012+ do not seem to correctly engage the lock-up clutch at low RPM cruising.

2800 would be perfect for you. It is going to give you an huge performance increase, while still keeping transmission temps in check. The higher you go on stall speed, the warmer the transmission will run, but 2800 is still plenty safe. There are many guys running 3000 stall speeds with the stock tranny cooler and pan that don't have any issues.

You can, but it is not necessary. I spent a bunch of money to put Amsoil in my 03, but the Mopar ATF+4 works just fine.

So it will only flash to the stall when I mash the peddle? It will still feel normal at part throttle correct?
