Wouldn't it be simpler to put the HYBRID badge from the Prius onto the tailgate of the Ram? :roflsquared:

Green, right... Lol Plugged into an outlet powered by coal/natural gas/oil/nuclear plants...

...and hydro/wind/solar/geothermal

Coal generation is down to less than 60% of base load at this point and more will be retired across the country by 2025.

What baffles me why the sudden fixation on natural gas. It's still carbon based so we still have to deal with some air quality and climate change issues.

And for those who say solar and wind will replace it all...well, all I gotta say is that the wind ain't always blowin' and the sun aint' always shinin'. Renewables are a good addition to the base load generation mix and provide certain benefits over coal (but it's much more expensive per KWH, less efficient and not as reliable) but if you think it's big enough to replace current base load generation technology you are foolin' yourself.

Maybe we should all turn off our computers and go drive our trucks, eh? :roflsquared:

OK...rant off.

LMAO...Do it!

OK...back on topic.

There is a lifted, black, big tired Tundra in my neighborhood that is always runnin' with his high beams and foglights on. He drives like a a$$ ... All The Damn Time. Speeding, weaving through traffic, tailgating, etc...I'm hoping one day we get to meet. :)

We have wind out here, but 85% of the power in my neck of the woods comes from 3 coal, 1 nuke and one oil plant, along with the Ford hydro dam. There are a few wind systems out in the middle of the corn fields, about 60 miles W/NW of me, and they are tall enough that they wind 150' up does keep them turning nearly around the clock, they just don't put out enough to cover all the population they serve.

I'd love the Tesla battery that mounts on the wall of your house, combined with a solar and/or wind setup in my back yard - yeah, you get discounts to have them for going green BUT they tax the **** out of you because of it, typically to the point it costs more in taxes than it does to just stay hooked up to the power company's poles... :suicide:

Ran to O'Reilly Auto to get some new wiper blades for the car and truck, along with some detail spray. Guy at the next register over was ordering OEM replacement drive line parts for his 2014 Tundra - full transfer case rebuild kit, U-joints, torque converter and ring/pinion for rear end - O'Reilley's prices were cheaper than the Toyota dealer! lol That and they wouldn't warranty it because he admitted he abused it by pulling a stuck farm tractor out of the mud...

He said the yota dealer wouldn't touch it because he caused the failure and thus he was responsible to pay to fix it. Can only imagine what they'd charge him at the dealer to fix it all.

And, I wonder how big was the tractor he pulled? Garden tractor, contractors landscaping tractor (about the size of a mega cab Ram) or one of the giant field implement tractors? I should have asked when I was talking to him, but I was laughing on the inside and wanted to walk away before I started laughing on the outside... lol

LOL...yeah, I suppose the size of the tractor may have a bearing on it but...damn...not honoring the warranty because he used his truck as a truck should be used? Not cool!

Right. Whatever happened to that dang commercial of the tundra towing the frigging space shuttle. Oh yeah it can do that, but you be damned if you gotta pull a tractor out of the mud or actually use a truck as a truck. Looks like false advertising to me. Hahahahaha

Politicians and power companies, like politicians and "big oil" love having their hands in each others' pocket.... :/

Interesting thing about that publicity stunt - it didn't pull **** - it STOPPED the shuttle. That stretch of pavement is a 3% down grade and all they did was use the brakes to stop the thing from rolling forward any farther. And I'd bet those pads and rotors were SHOT after that little venture.... :roflsquared:

Come to Houston for a while. Chit like that won't even phase ya,,,,,

No joke. The drive to Dallas the other day was ridiculous. Got cut off at 80 by an F250 who gave me the evil eye when I looked over after passing him later. Guy cut me off again as I was trying to get past a broken down semi. He is lucky I am not a bro dozin gun slinger. This was in the wife's 4Runner. Don't think the Ram would have as much intervention.
